Lakewood Freeway/Langford Parkway carries Georgia State Route 166, and is part of the cancelled Interstate 420. I-420 would have connected I-20 near Douglasville to I-20 near its Gresham Road interchange east of Atlanta in DeKalb County. The freeway was not built to Interstate standards and does not intersect I-20, so it was not included in the Interstate Highway system.

The freeway connects Interstate 285 (Atlanta Beltway) to the Downtown Connector (Interstates 75 and 85) south of Downtown Atlanta.
