Route to Nandi Hills From Bangalore
On Bangalore Bellary road, reach Devanahalli cross, which is on the 36 th milestone. Take the deviation on the left and travel 11 kilometers to reach Nandi cross. The foot of the hill is 3 kilometers from here. On the Doddaballapur road, turn right to reach the road that leads to the top of the hill. From the foot is 8 kilometers of the top.
Historical trivia:
Nandi Hills (known as Nundy Droog in Britain) also was a Mysorean Fort taken by assault by the British forces under the command of Lord Cornwallis in 1791. Regiments involved: 36th Foot, 71st Foot, Madras European Regiment.

Karnatak State Tourism has a nice guest house which is the best place to stay, but it has only two rooms, so book in advance. Dont expect too much, its a barebones place. | ||||
