Marco Polo Bridge (Lugouqiao)



The Lugou Bridge, also known as the Marco Polo Bridge after Marco Polo, an Italian Explorer who wrote about the bridge in his diary. A Japanese occuptation of the area triggered the Second Sino-Japanese War, a war between the Chinese and Japanese which started in 1937 and became part of World War II.
