Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic ChurchThe Church was built in 1931 by the contraversial radio priest, Fr. Charles Coughlin. It was named for St. Therese de Lisieux and is constructed in an art deco style with the sanctuary in the center surrounded by the congregation.
Coughlin used to broadcast his radio program from the crucifix-shaped tower. The exterior contains blocks carved with the name and flower of each state as a reminder of his radio listeners from across the US who donated to the construction project. www.shrinechurch.com Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Shrine_of_the_Little_Flower Category: church
