Footings from the old Fletcher Red Car viaduct (Los Angeles)These concrete blocks were the footings for the Pacific Electric red car viaduct over Fletcher Drive. Built in 1904, the original wood trestle was over 450 feet long and 40 feet high. In 1927 the center section was replaced with steel to accommodate the paving of Fletcher Drive, 61 feet below. The line was decommissioned in 1955 and the bridge later dismantled. The footings were declared a Los Angeles historical monument in 2003.
