| Lloyd Center Shopping Mall The largest mall in Portland, it was the largest in the world when it opened in 1960. Most hipsters I know avoid it like the plague (because it was actually quite distinctive as one of the few remaining open-air shopping centers, but once it was enclosed, all remaining character was drained from it), but it is convenient and has a parking garage. Also there is a movie theater indoors that plays mostly kids movies and another larger movie theater across the street. If you get the munchies they have an acceptable food court. I recommend the Indian food place and the filled churros at the taco place. I'm extremely fond of the Cajun place here, surprisingly good considering all the kiddie fare it competes with. The ice arena in the middle of the main floor is the unusual draw here. Category: shop shopping center business portland mall lloyd
